Kaiser Permanente California Sites Upgrade to MedCorr 2.8 - The facilities in Southern and Northern California have upgraded their Release of Information (ROI) software system to the newest version of MedCorr, Version 2.8. This upgrade includes more than 50 enhancements, which were specifically developed as a result of the increasing volume of sites using the ROI application and ongoing collaboration with managers and users. Some major changes include addition of FMLA forms from the Department of Labor, modification of request notes security, and the option of making a department private so that users from other departments cannot view or access their request information. Other important new features in this upgrade is an optional Form Filler module, which automatically enters certain patient or request information on a selected document, and an optional Legal Scheduling module, which allows users to manage legal scheduling information such as appointments, payments and invoices. Currently, there are over 500 California users in various medical correspondence, insurance, disability, patient access, occupational health and psychiatric departments using MedCorr.
YMCA of Orange Using New Custom CRM System - The staff at the YMCA of Orange has started to use our new CRM (Constituent Relationship Management) software system, which was custom designed for their non-profit organization. The organization was in need of a CRM software system that managed and tracked their different constituents (such as members, donors and board members) as well as their involvement in the various programs that the organization offers. The software system also manages attendance and payment transactions and provides automated invoicing and auto billing. There are various reports that the user can generate and print, which deal with accounts receivables, mailing statements, sign in sheets and membership. A powerful feature of the system is the Excel Open option, which accesses a spreadsheet containing queries to all the database tables. Users can create their own custom Excel reports and pull specific data they need into these reports. As with all their other software systems, the YMCA-CRM also comes with a security feature that allows management to add new users and determine their security roles.
Kaiser SoCAL upgrades to MedCorr 2.7, joining NoCAL in using Enterprise System - From May to June, our staff have been busy training over 300 Kaiser Permanente users to use MedCorr 2.7, which is an upgraded version of MedCorr1, the Release of Information software system they were previously using. The users trained are working in various Southern Californian medical correspondence, insurance and psychiatric departments. MedCorr 2.7 replaces MedCorr 1. Many of the features and fields from MedCorr1 are in MedCorr 2.7 such as shortcut keys and auto-completion and patient and request information. However, a major difference between the two software systems is that all the sites will be using a centralized database, enabling the users to view the records from not only their site but from the rest of the SCAL sites. NoCal is currently using MedCorr 2.6.

Traveler Program Goes "Live" at Kaiser Permanente Point Loma Travel Clinic - Our travel advisory software system, Traveler, is currently being used "live" by Kaiser Permanente's Point Loma Travel Advisory clinic in San Diego. The Travel Advisory clinic, which serves the counties of San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside and Orange, is one of two travel advisory offices serving Southern California. By using the Traveler program, the staff at the Travel Advisory clinic is able to easily manage and enter all information for a trip and traveler in an automated and efficient process. The program determines specific immunizations, prescriptions and over-the-counter medications a patient (traveler) needs based on a patient's past immunization records, health conditions, allergies and current medications as well as the disease risks known for the country or countries the patient (traveler) is visiting.
Custom Software System Developed for Electrical Contracting Company - We have developed a custom software system, VR-MRP (Master Resource Planning), for J.E.T. (Jamar Electric Temecula), an electrical contracting company that provides services to home builders. J.E.T. services Riverside and San Bernardino counties and their clients include Woodside Homes, Greystone Homes by Lennar Homes, Brehm Communities, Warmington Homes, Island Pacific Builders and McMillin Homes. VR-MRP, a Windows based application, tracks foundational information such as suppliers and parts, but also variables such as part prices and unit prices. One of the primary objectives was to allow users to update their master parts pricing list so that the lowest cost supplier is selected for any given part. Users can also export their master price list and manage part categories, part types, device categories and code sets.
XML Data Standard System Offered to All Emergency Management Agencies in the U.S. - We have developed a XML data standard system called Debris Emergency Management & Accountability Networking Data Standard (DEMANDS), which provides a method of collecting data on post-disaster cleanup projects as they occur and a set of tools for recognizing fraud as it happens. XML is the normal and current way computers communicate with each other. A DEMANDS license has been offered free for two years to all the Emergency Management agencies in the United States for auditing purposes only. By adopting this XML standard, these agencies will be able to effectively and quickly recognize fraudulent activity as it occurs instead of years later during a post-project audit, ensuring that large amounts of money are not paid out by cities, counties, state or FEMA.
Our Contribution in ArborAge Technology Article - We were requested to contribute to a computer hardware article for the June issue of ArborAge, a well-known tree care publication that presents tools and techniques for today's arborists. Storm Tracker, our debris removal ticket tracking software system, had been previously featured in the magazine's January and October 2006 issues. The article guided users on what they should look for when purchasing technology products such as computers, handhelds, PDAs or GPS systems as well as the best way to match computers and other hardware to their business needs.

If you are involved in storm clean up (or you are taking down dead trees in California), please contact us for information on how Storm Tracker can help you too. Storm Tracker is a distributed Microsoft Windows program that communicates with a central database to provide the required control over your tickets. More about Storm Tracker.
